I am going to begin a series of posts called “Let’s Break It Down” (LBID). I am going to pick some popular poses and give you all the information that you need to know about the pose all in one place. I will include the following in each post:

  • Benefits of the pose
  • Step by step instructions on how to get into the pose with proper alignment
  • Modifications

Key Terms

I will use some phrases or terms while describing poses so I will list those here and you can refer back to them as needed.

  • Magic button: on the palm side of your hand this is the pointer finger where it connects to the palm of your hand
  • Heart space: the middle of your chest where your heart is
